F/W 2011: Bottega Veneta

Here at MyStyleDallas we are huge fans of Bottega Veneta. From their signature woven bags and accessories to the sophisticated and feminine ready to wear collections, Bottega Veneta is a must see every season. Creative Director Tomas Maier's excellent usage of color season after season leave us in awe and this season his mixture of fuschias, yellows, and oranges gives the collection a playful sense until topping them with black lace giving his audience a dress that could be worn easily from day to night. His corseted origami-inspired gowns at the end of the show left us with a bit of a question mark on our heads but never-the-less stunning.

At the Neiman Marcus/Pink Memo trend event, tonight the crowd was light but full of heavy hitters. Thefeast.com's Lisa Petty, producer Rhonda Sargent Chambers, Abby Gregory, and the hostesses for the evening Courtney and Allison Edwards were all seen looking chic and in full fashion effect. Top tweeters of the night were awarded their choice of Chanel, Alexis Bittar, or Stuart Weitzman gifts. It was a pleasant event with a great crowd.

The little designer that could.....

Within the fashion industry the name Olivier Theyskens brings about images of couture worthy flowing chiffon dresses in floral prints and Tron-like accessories. Making his name at Rochas, Theyskens was let go after health and beauty giant, P&G, no longer saw it necessary to continue the line. Theyskens then took the helm at Nina Ricci but left after the Puig Group which owns Ricci, re-structured thus ending Theyskens contract a season earlier than expected. Fast forward to this past Valentine's Day when Theyskens debuted his first collection for filler fashion brand Theory. Ironically after holding tenure at two very chic and very traditionally feminine fashion houses, Theyskens showed a collection that was very pant heavy and designed to wear. Word is that customers ate up the first Spring arrival at Bloomingdale's so look for it soon at a Neiman's near you.
